Definitely not the rich, caramel espresso flavor that I am accustomed to. I had high hopes for this coffee. I received my order of Espresso Milano and immediately opened a bag to make a macchiato. The coffee tasted stale and weak. I will never order this coffee again and would recommend against buying this product, especially if you are a seasoned coffee drinker. The beans smelled stale and were very dry.
All three bags were stale and dry. I was pleased with the affordable price and the fact that the company is so focused on the community. I opened the other bags to see if maybe one was a dud. I reluctantly ground some beans and prepared my beverage. Yuck. I think I've actually tasted better coffee from a can.
You will be sadly disappointed.
It's definitely better than Starbucks and has a rich, yet mild, taste. I've been looking for a replacement of my Illy medium roast coffee beans and tried Pura Vida on a recommendation. The latter is perhaps my complaint with the coffee. I really like the fact that by purchasing you are helping to support the independent farmers vs. corporations like Starbucks who take more of the profit for themselves.For the coffee itself, it's better than your typical supermarket coffee's of any shape or variety. It doesn't have a strong enough taste which is needed for a good espresso. I'm still experimenting with the various grind and flavor settings, so this may improve the flavor a bit.4 stars as it's better than any supermarket coffee, isn't all that expensive, and you help support independent farmers.
For anyone who has had to give up the "high test" coffee for decaf will not feel deprived. The best tasting decaf I have ever tasted.
I love this roast for my lattes because it is so easy, smooth, yet full-flavored. I really feel like this is the best overall coffee that I have tasted. As the name suggests, it is intended for espresso, but it makes an excellent cup of regular coffee. If you are in the midst of a decision for what bean to purchase, make this your choice. You shall not be disappointed.
If you like your coffee a little lighter bodied then what the Cafe Kilimanjaro is, then this is your coffee. When I'm making coffee for guests and they don't want a dark roast that I normally drink I throw some Espresso Milano in the machine and make a cup with it and I've never received a complaint about it. Usually I'm asked where the coffee is from and what kind it is. It's a perfect fair-trade, organic medium roast from Pura Vida.
